Nora cried into her pillow until she finally, exhausted from her tears, fell asleep. It had been a hard few weeks, with my daughter coming home to me, a simple reminder of what happened that night I do not wish to ever remember. But as I hold her close, I remember that her birth gave me hope.
Mair had formulated a plan, as I had no intention to betray Mello, she decided she would take it upon herself to control Matt to rape me. When I discovered that I was pregnant with Nora, I begged Kara to find a way to rid me of the child. But it was already too late.
Nora was adopted, but 12 days ago, her adoptive mother died. I took her back into my care permanently and she moved into her own room that was already filled with several of her belongings from the times she had visited me as she grew up.
I stroked her hair until she was peaceful once more and quietly crept out of her room. "How is she?" Mello asked.
"Still crying herself to sleep." I frowned and slipped into bed with Mello.
It had become quite a routine for us, settle Nora down to sleep and then go to sleep ourselves. Mello had made me aware that I'd been having nightmares of losing Nora, I'd been screaming her name each night but I had no memory of it.
