Am I dreaming?

Am I really here?

When you close your eyes,

I disappear.

I'm only here when I'm needed.

But I'm needed all the time.

Come and find me.

Just don't blink.

I need you to stay here,

If you even turn away,

I'm gone.

Watch me smile and act as though I'm breathing.

Look away and the façade drops

I'm gone.

Take hold and fix me to this world

I can stay by your side.

Not a figment of imagination any more.

No longer disappearing.
